Another great opportunity for USW business students to engage with industry.
USW Exchange supports this year’s sell-out Institute of Directors Christmas lunch on December 15th, which will be hosted by star guest, rugby icon Sam Warburton.
The event is attended by business leaders and industry experts, who will hear the Wales and British Lions speak on the trials and tribulations of leadership in a talk on ‘Leadership – A Captain’s Perspective.’
This will be followed by a Q&A session, where he will speak frankly about becoming a highly regarded ambassador for his sport as well as for Wales during his tenure of the Welsh number 7 shirt and about holding the record for the most Wales caps as captain. He will also open up about his experiences as undefeated double British and Irish Lions captain.
Students (Trainee Analysts) will have the opportunity to probe Sam on his leadership style/approaches before critically reflecting on their own group dynamics and practice as Trainee Analysts within the USW Business Clinic.
Throughout 2017, Trainee Analysts have been putting theory into practice, supporting local organisations by getting hands-on and tacking industry challenges.
The USW Business Clinic enables USW students to have the personal skills, awareness and discipline essential in the workplace by participating in a ‘consultancy firm’ to provide advice for our clients. The service is offered to all types of companies from SME’s, multi-national and non-profit organisations. Students get to the root of the problem, which results in a detailed report and presentation of their recommendations.
